DINOSAUR DISCOVERY TOURS AT THE BUNURONG ENVIRONMENT CENTRE, INVERLOCH

The Dinosaur Dreaming project, jointly run by Monash University and Museums Victoria, is essentially a research project, involving the excavation of various sites (Flat Rocks 1994-2013 and Eric the Red West 2014-2016) along the south coast of Victoria. As such, we do not conduct regular tours of the sites for the public, except for a special "Friends of Dinosaur Dreaming Day" during each annual dig. However, we have received a number of enquiries regarding tours of the Dinosaur Dreaming localities and we felt that we should let people know about the school holiday programs being conducted by the Bunurong Environment Centre in Inverloch.

The BEC is run by the South Gippsland Conservation Society, a not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 1976 with the aim of promoting and preserving South Gippsland's natural resources and encouraging conservation education. They have a membership of around 300 and hold regular excursions, workshops and speaker nights to enhance the community's knowledge of the local environment.

During the school holidays the BEC conducts a number of family oriented activities, including the very popular Dinosaur Discovery tours led by local geologist and Dinosaur Dreaming member, Mike Cleeland.
